Norwegian pupils watching ‘Flukt’ (= escape), a documentary series about refugees in our time. Leo Ajkic, a Norwegian TV- and radio personality with a background as a Bosnian refugee, presents the series. In the first episode, we follow a Syrian family living in a refugee camp in Lebanon. They have applied for status as quote refugees to Norway, and the program gives an insight into this complicated process.
Working on this topic is an integral part of the class’ social studies. But even more significant, this is learning about one of the most important topics in Europe today. They also played the interactive game The Getaway Trip, where they experience what it is like to be a refugee.
